groundsels, socks and punk dolls

I made a new band of Lilliputian, those were grow up a bit and they are now 8.5", real giants ones.
I made their clothes by recycled socks, they are so useful for the doll making!
I am going to look for more kinds of textile to recycle, anyone have any idea?
I once saw on TV a woman who was producing yarns from groundsels she picked at her own garden, actually this TV show was one of the things that inspired me to quit my job as fashion designer.
Lately I became more and more curious about those kinds of materials for my
dolls.
I love the idea of creating dolls with stuff I can find at my own era, well, it's more like old socks then yellow flowers.

Does my heart going to be broken?

This girl is waiting for a while on my old sideboard,
she almost disappeared between different kinds of paper and receipts, waiting to be filed.
I left her there about two weeks ago with some despair feel.
I was satisfied by my achievement to create it's sculptural structure, which I create by small pieces that I sew into the basic crochet body and faces.
The problem was I didn't know how to go on, and what character to give her.
Many times I led by a feeling of hatred to my creation and tried to fix something I thought I didn't like at all.
But the fear from destroying something I like won.


She is out now so I guess I would have to make something, hope it wouldn't lead me to break my own heart.

Colors

Most of the slippers are for only three colors-
red, beige, grey, Sometimes someone would order a off white pair,
I even haven't listed white, but last week I received an order to,
I was so fascinated by it's look so I made new colors table in order to include it in.
The greens were waiting a long time to listed so I add them too.

The new socks

Scaling up a bit a gain this socks couple is 37cm, I had to cut few pairs and separated socks in order to sew them and their garments. They are all made by old socks that I found at our drawers, now I have to look into my family and friends drawers to make the next ones. The faces are painted and embroidery.
first I painted it and I loved the painted faces as they were an left them to dry on my desk.
when Gal came back from work I introduced them to him, and take a further look by myself, I didn't like the way they looked like and felt like all the work I made on the faces should be redone.
I didn’t like the character and expression they had with the paint, actually they seemed less of character or expression.
It tooks some few more hours, and when it became close to 3:00 am they became much more friendly but also mysterious.

Lilliputian surprise

The Lilliputians were preparing themselves to a journey.

The Lilliputian man was not emotionally ready for that.

So he prefer to stay at the bobilina place. Quickly he found new company.

The little creature was worried that the lilliputian man might be bored without any other lilliputian friends around him.

He tell that to the needles elephant, who though they can easily arrange something.

It's look strange at the beginning.

But this morning he began to understand what it's all about.

The lilliputian family

When the slippers were done, I went back to the place where little creatures are being created.
Well actually it is all in the same tiny studio at my balcony which became a part of my apartment by ugly plastic shutter, probably years before we even dream about living here.
The Slippers were scaled up from my cloth dolls size into human sizes, and after two weeks of dealing with the humans measures I got down again into the doll measures, but to the tiniest of them.
This family is 8" when they are older, 5.5 when they are younger and only 1.5" if they are a dog
