To make a cigarette, I use a dowel that you can get at most home improvement stores. This stick measures 3/16" in diameter x 48" long and has worked pretty well. Even though the end result isn't exactly like the original, it has worked for me. I cut about 1 1/8" piece, sand off the end to flatten it a bit, and paint it with white fingernail polish. After it dries, I use a black marker and darken the tip, going over the edges a bit.
