The hands

Those were first, but they didn't fit very well,
so I had to replace them, it lasted a while, till I figured out how should I crochet the human-like hands.
And here they are, tomorrow I will begin with the feet.
Growing-up

Here she is, yet there is much more to be done; keeping on unpicking and re-crocheting, over and over again. The pace is slow, and now I keep working on the hands and legs.

Recently I have been busy getting ready for a new crochet workshop I will be conducting next month here in my new home studio. It required a lot of thinking and concentration on my part, since when I create my items; I just crochet freestyle, finding my way with the hook and stitches. I have a raw idea in my mind which comes to life loop by loop, and I don’t follow any patterns. Actually, it is not that simple. Many times it required countless unpicking until I got the form I wanted; a long trial and error process would perhaps be a better way to describe it. I have developed this process over the years, and came up with new ideas and techniques from doll to doll.
Many times I was asked to teach my own unique crocheting technique, I didn't feel confident enough to do so. But as I received more and more requests, I decided to give it a try. At first I made those trials by my own, and then asked a friend to be my guinea pig. I taught her my principles and it seemed like they were clear enough, she managed to come up with a crocheted head on her own, following my instructions. There still remain some issues like creating the workshop schedule and deciding on the number and duration of meetings, as well as some details about the process I have to plan, but I will publish the invitation in the following few days.

I had some free time, so I was able to help my dear creatures with their hard work.

A new bunch of sock creatures is being gathered on my desk every morning.
At the moment, I am busy with a few other projects, so I can’t dedicate much time to stitching them.
The sock creatures don’t give up, and every time I come back home, I find them quite busy taking care of each other.
There is always something that keeps them occupied.
Mess

Work is in progress, and new dolls are on the way... They are almost done, but today I have to take a break, organize my desk, and start another project that I have to finish by the end of the week.
Organizing my desk when it gets to this state is no easy feat, but putting aside the nearly completed dolls for a few days is truly heart breaking. I can't wait to see them finished!
And now another Sock doll workshop I am going to conduct next mounth:

Spare Parts

Sometimes I feel that the work of creating my dolls is a constant process of stitching and unpicking.
This boy was almost done yesterday evening, till I woke up this morning, and find out that I don't like the way he looked like at all.

First I unpicked his mouth,
Then I looked on the stupid ears I stitch only yesterday they looked awful; they weren’t "his" it was obvious, so I cut them out immediately.
I can't point where the problem was exactly, it was something I felt and knew.

The mouth and ears are going to be stored in my special box for dolls spare parts.
Maybe one day they would fit another doll.
Embroidery and sock dolls

I started to embroider the girl's hand; it is only one hand that I have been embroidering, and there is still so much to do.
In the meantime, I wanted to have a bit of fun and started digging in my colorful sock box.
These two popped out,
and took over my desk.
