The girl and the bird

I made this newspaper and tape model, in order to use it for designing a pattern for new bird doll.

When the pattern was done, I sewed a muslin model, but it didn't look too good...

I fixed the pattern and sewed another one, which is looking much better.

Using the new pattern, I sewed this bird from Gal's old sweatshirt; for a while, it sat waiting on my desk,

while I was busy with another doll I have been working on lately.

The dog, the bag and the arctic birds

During his daily walk one of the arctic birds noticed a handbag.

The second bird found a sleeping dog.

The dog was frightened when he woke up and saw the two birds staring at him. He looked for a safety and known place.

The birds worried about leaving him alone outside in the cold.

They carried him all the way to the Blondie girl, she was the first one they came across with. They didn't know it's her dog.

She was so exited.

For a long time she was looking for the dog. Together with him and her best friend she was planing a long trip abroad. Now they all have to leave.

Me and the birds

This week I made some new birds brooches. It is a great fun to create these tiny stuff, they turn out so tiny and cute. But when I am doing them for long hours, and making them does require long hours, I feel that my eyes bit hurt after concentrating so long on such tiny details.
Taking their photos is not ease too, sometimes it takes more then one hour till I get photos good enough for the etsy store, flickr and this blog.
I think that I need some break now, I am going to start some new project this week.
The birds are going to have some time off too.

They already like it, earlier today they spent such a nice and sunny afternoon on our balcony.

Nest brooch

Two birds are sitting in their cozy nest. They like it, staying in together.

They can sit back to back, side to side, side to back and so on...

There are crochet threads attaching the birds to the nest and keeping them inside but allow some freedom of movement too.

They wouldn't fly far away anyway, they like it so much inside.
